Welcome to Re-URBAN-It! We are a vintage furniture and home décor store with a love for anything unique! While we do accept any finished décor to sell, a lot of our inventory has been refinished. After looking through all of our amazing inventory, I am sure you are wondering who the masterminds are behind all of these amazing pieces! Breanna Hitchens is a 22-year-old entrepreneur with a love for art and crafting. This Philadelphia native with a degree in International business from Temple University combined her passion for crafting and business to launch this new, vintage furniture store. Alongside Breanna is her mother, Rachel! She is a real estate agent with a love for anything of great quality and uniqueness. Like her smile, Rachel brings happiness and light to every piece of furniture and this mother-daughter business.
After having worked closely with her mother in the real-estate industry where she had done staging for homes, she had a spark of interest for interior design.
It was not until she went on a vacation to Charleston, South Carolina once she graduated college where the idea for re-URBAN-it began. “I had no idea what I was going to do. I had left my job because I was not happy there and I knew I was meant to be an entrepreneur. It was just a matter of what I was going to do/sell.” Breanna said. “I saw a store that had refurnished antiques and I was with my mom. She said “we could totally do this!” and I was like “Let’s do it!”” Once they returned home for about a week, Breanna and her mom, Rachel, passed by 2600 Lefevre Street while it had a for rent sign. They called the next day and put down a deposit for the building, signed the lease, and the rest is history.
From the first sale of a gray rocking chair to all the inventory that has been sold to this day, this business has had an amazing and successful launch thanks to all the customers such as yourself! Your support and enthusiasm for the pieces are what inspires Breanna and her staff to continue to live out their passion. Hopefully in the future, with all of your support, Re-URBAN-It will continue to grow with more furniture and locations so we can become a part of everyone’s home!
Aside from the store, Breanna aspires to be the best dog mom she can be to her now 4-year-old princess. She would also like to flip more properties! She also would like to personally thank everyone who helped the store open. Thank you to Jamie, Billy, Victor, Darian, Chris, Angel, Devyn, Aunt Cassi, Sonny, and so many more. You are all loved and cherished.
New blog posts will be posted twice a week! We cannot wait to share a deeper side to the business with you! If you would like to follow our social media pages, they are linked below!
